It is much easier to buy cosmetics than it is to apply them correctly, but it is a skill worth developing because whether we're talking about your day-to-day makeup or the makeup you wear for special occasions, the ability to use cosmetics correctly is something you can't do without.
Cosmetics are meant to enhance your beauty, but we've all seen women with poorly applied makeup that had the opposite effect. When used correctly, beauty products can hide imperfections and enhance positive features. With just a few brush strokes, you can transform your look from "plain Jane" to one that brings you compliments and creates an impression of confident beauty.
On the other hand, if not applied correctly, beauty cosmetics can have a negative effect on your skin and damage to your skin texture. When you buy cosmetics from a store or order them online, always carefully check their ingredients, to insure they contain no harmful chemicals or substances that may cause allergic reactions and irritation. This is one of the best reasons to always use premium cosmetics. Cheaper cosmetics are often low quality and the money you save isn't worth the problems you may create.
Before you use any cosmetic, read the instructions and precautions that come with them and always test them as recommended before you apply them to sensitive areas. Most women are not aware that cosmetics can start to breakdown in time, so never use makeup more than one year old.
If you wear contact lenses, you should be especially careful in choosing your eye makeup to make sure it is hypoallergenic and won't flake off into your eyes and contaminate your lenses.
