The House of Creed is one of the best kept secrets in the fragrance industry. The rich and well-known though have shopped at their boutique in Paris for numerous years.
From Heads of State to celebrities from the film and music industries, Creed's patron list reads similar to an worldwide Who's Who. Over the years the Creed lineage has produced over two hundred perfumes, all unique and hand-made, frequently creating scents for the select use of their wealthiest clientele.
The House of Creed was founded in 1760 when James Henry Creed opened his first shop in London. Given that the excellence of Creed fragrances were superior they swiftly became a favorite of the Sovereigns and even became the official provider to the crown. Creed perfume relocated to Paris in 1854.
Today Olivier Creed, direct descendant of James Henry Creed, continues this great custom as Createur Parfumeur and President of the House of Creed. In France, or travel ling abroad, he individually selects the purest rose essences from Bulgaria, Turkey or Morocco as well as Italian jasmine, irises from Florence, Tuberose from India or genuine Parma violets. Creed also manufacture their own essences using the time-honored infusion method, now abandoned as too expensive by the modern perfume trade.
This commitment to using time-honored methods in his fragrances allows Mr. Creed to maintain the traditions that his family started in the 1700's.. The components are then weighed, mixed, macerated and filtered, all by hand, before being shipped to only the best department stores and specialist retailers globally.
