As far as hair growth products, there are amazing amounts to choose from on the market. There are some that are more expensive than the others and some that make more claims as well. This article is to let you know what hair growth products are available, while we are not in any way claiming that these products do or will grow hair.

Xandrox is a high strength Minoxidil (This is the active ingredient in Rogaine). This ingredient has been shown to work in many studies. Xandrox 12.5% has two different formulas. This product is a white lotion, similar to hand lotion. It contains 12.5% micronized Minoxidil. This means that the Minoxidil has been ground to fine particles and put into a higher strength. The second product is Xandrox, but also contains 5% Axelieic Acid, which has been shown to inhibit DHT, the hormone that causes hair loss.

Tricomin Therapy Spray that goes along with a shampoo and conditioner. The spray is a waterbased and tends to drip down easily off the scalp. You have to use your fingers to massage it back in your scalp. Not sure if the spray is strong enough to really do any good.

Headway 5 is a generic version of Rogaine 5. There does not seem to be any difference between this product and the more expensive Rogaine 5. They have the same consistency and smell. It is possible that this is the same product being sold to another company, which is not uncommon. This is about $10 cheaper and comes from New Zealand.

Wal-Mart's Equate brand 2% Minoxidil. Unlike many of the generic Minoxidil products, the Equate brand comes with with a pump spray attachment, along with a dropper. This way you are not limited to just the dropper method of application. As far the generic 2% brands, this is the best and the cheapest found.

Dr. Richard Lee/Regrowth, LLC makes a product that is very cost effective and does the job as well if not better than any of the other formulas. This does require a prescription, but you Minoxidil 3-5% either alone, or you can get it with the combination of Retin-A. There is no crystallization, where the Minoxidil is ground up. And it is reasonably priced.

Bausch and Laumb make and distribute a 2% Minoxidil formula. It can be found in almost every grocery or drug store chains. It is reasonably priced, but can vary upon location. You can purchase it in a single or double pack, and they only come with a dropper. It appears to be of high quality and a good alternative if you can't find your regular brand.

There are no shampoos that we have found that actually claim to grow or regrow hair. There are shampoos that make your hair appear thicker and healthier.

To summarize, hair growth is not something that we can cause. There are hair growth products that will slow down the process or help to regrow hair that has previously died or the follicles have been damaged. The main ingredient in the hair growth products are undeniably Minoxidil 2% or higher. These can be purchased anywhere and applied in the privacy of your home. Your physician can prescribe stronger doses. Before using any type of treatment for hair growth, please consult your physician.
